The South Thompson Inn & Event Centre sits on 55 riverfront acres. The land once housed a Thoroughbred Racing Stable. The Manor House and Carriage House are the original structures.
It was very much a working ranch with valuable horses housed in first class accommodations. A charming site with plenty of character for cocktail receptions, weddings, or a relaxing vacation.
Guest Rooms
All Guest Rooms at the South Thompson Inn & Event Centre have been individually designed and bear the name of either a race course or racing town in North America.
The Manor House is a spacious, modern seven-bedroom home providing a spacious, urban country kitchen, great room, five-person private hot tub, private barbecue and large patio overlooking the South Thompson River. The Manor House is perfect for Wedding Parties, Corporate Retreats, Family Reunions, Golf Groups, and more.
The brick Kentucky Style Carriage House once had two over-sized stalls used as foaling or “birthing” stalls. There are two self-contained suites available to guests (‘The Carriage Suites’), which were originally used by the trainers and jockeys allowing them to remain close to their extremely valuable horses. The Carriage Suites’ showers were a reminder of this time in The Inn’s history, when the five-foot shower was a perfect fit for a four-foot jockey! The showers have now been updated to full height walk-in showers. We also have built The Kentucky Suite with a king-sized bed, kitchenette and living room area with a pull out sofa. Perfect for a romantic getaway.
Our Story
In 1993 The Inn opened, featuring individually decorated guest rooms, an on-site restaurant and a lounge for guests to relax and socialize. Meetings were held in our meeting rooms one of which is named after Canada's famous racehorse Northern Dancer. Outside guests were able to enjoy the swimming pool and hot tub overlooking the South Thompson River.
The South Thompson Inn & Event Centre continues to enhance each guest experience with yearly upgrades and room renovations giving a whole new look and feel. New furniture, white linens, new flooring, flat screen T.V.’s, as well as the addition of fireplaces in a few rooms completed the guest room changes, while an expansion of the Bourbon Lounge, addition of the bistro style restaurant, the Library and new flooring completed the common area updates.
Sit & Relax
The almost soundproof “madisens” dining room overlooking the South Thompson River is perfect for romantic dinner, special occasion or business dinner all year round. Guests enjoy drinks and watching sport events on the 65” flat screen TV in the fully licensed Bourbon Lounge. The Derby Lounge on the events level offers a full-service bar, granite counters, a flat screen T.V. and a cozy fireplace.
Play & Relax
The South Thompson Inn & Event Centre is located adjacent to the Championship 18-hole golf course Rivershore Golf Links; a course designed by Robert Trent Jones Senior, offering the perfect golf getaway location. The Inn also provides guests with a variety of outdoor amenities such as, Bocce, Horseshoes, Cruiser Bikes, Heated Seasonal Outdoor Pool, All Season Outdoor Hot Tub and much more.
